My Investment Guidelines

July 24, 2006

Investing in HYIPs is very exciting.  The possibility of making a quick buck makes even a person as logical as me do the illogical.  In order to minimize risk, I have decided to make up my own investment guidelines to follow.  This way, my decisions will not be made purely out of emotion, but on certain rules that I have come up with.

I think everyone should have their own guidelines.  I have posted my investment strategy and guidelines in the section on the right of my blog —>

Where do I get my funds?

May 17, 2006

Well.. the past months, I have been allocating half of my paycheck to the stockmarket. I have about 70,000 pesos there. This Month, I have several bills to pay, so I won't be able to invest in stocks. Plus, I discovered some other places where I can put my money online. so, more on that next time….

Anyway, allocation part of my paycheck is safer because I would have otherwise have just spent it elsewhere. At least in this instance, I gain knowledge in investing.  The risk of losing money from it will just be treated as my "Tuition Fee" for the education I am receiving hands-on.

In the Beginning… (of the year)

May 14, 2006

At the start of this year, I started fixing my finances. I took bought 4 investment plans with sunlife investments and a couple more UITF Placements under BDO – Banco de Oro and BPI – Bank of the Philippine Islands.

The thought of managing my own finances was intriguing and fun. I am not a greedy person, but I know the value of money – and having more is never a bad thing!

Anyway, I shall focus my blogging to investments I make online, so I won't discuss these traditional investments anymore.

Trading Stocks Online - The Tools

In order to trade stocks online, I need to find a website that I can regsiter and buy stocks from. Such a site is www.bpitrade.com which is the online trading arm of BPI – Bank of the Philippine Islands.

I already created a checking account with BPI last year which was a requirement before I could trade with www.bpitrade.com. After I registered with bpitrade, they gave me a savings account where I can deposit money for me to trade with. It required a 5,000 pesos maintaining balance that earning minuman interest.

I can load money into this account by doing a money transfer from my checking account. All of this is done thru another website www.bpiexpressonline.com. With bpiexpressonline, I can do Online banking with the current account that I have with BPI.
